A brand new look

So I guess you’ve probably noticed that the site’s had a bit of an overhaul. About time too eh?

I decided that the old site wasn’t working as it was too tricky to make updates and changes as it all had to be via FTP. So after a bit of looking around I decided that WordPress was the best option. The site uses a slightly modified theme called “Arthemia”. To quote Michael Hutagalung (the theme designer, link at bottom of page):

“Arthemia theme is combining a magazine and a weblog into one; it is not too magazine-ish nor too blog-ish.”

In essence, it’s perfect for what I want.

So. I have a few plans for future content. There’s plenty to write about. Firstly I’ve got a huge amount of pictures and video from my year’s playing around hard work at the National Film and Television School (NFTS). You can expect articles on pyrotechnics, prosthetics, and practical and digital VFX.

Also coming up; I’ve been working on commercials for over a year and a half at The Mill in London, so I’ll be writing about how they were put together, shot breakdowns, etc. Plus tips and tricks for Houdini, XSI, and any other software I happen to be using.

I need to put together a new gallery area, and there’ll almost certainly be a few other bits and pieces too, but I’m not going to be more specific at the moment.

In the meantime, if you find something is broken, or if you’re looking for something that used to be on the old site that you can’t find anymore, just let me know by using the contact form.
