...in with Wix!
Finally, the old Wordpress based website has been retired and replaced by something a little more shiny. I hope you agree that it looks better for it. I’m now using Wix to make and host the website. Why? Well, while Wordpress gives you a lot of flexibility, it’s a bit of a chore to maintain and web design has moved on considerably. Yes, Wix isn’t as customisable, but it takes away much of the hassle that long term Wordpress users are burdened with.
Longer term, we’ll have to see how it plays out, but it feels like high-level website editors are the direction things are moving in. Yes, lots of us feel comfortable with web technologies and enjoy the challenge of bringing them together. But honestly… at some point you just have to remember what your objective is. With the limited time I have available, I just want an easy solution to create articles and showcase work. Wix seems like a good solution.

The articles on this website will probably end up covering a number of different areas mainly focusing on whatever tools and techniques I happen to be using at the time. My career has tended to jump around between the creative and the technical, so who knows what I’ll write, but I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you.
